GasBuddy and GreatSchools are Apple's latest Maps data partners
Apple has added a couple of new data partners to Maps. GasBuddy and GreatSchools are both now present in the Maps Acknowledgements site. However, data from either company has yet to appear in Apple's Maps application.
GasBuddy lets people post and find gasoline prices in their area. From GasBuddy:
GasBuddy.com is a group of local websites which offers an online method for website visitors to post and view recent retail gasoline prices.
Meanwhile, GreatSchools rates schools from around the United States with reviews from parents, teachers, and students.
GreatSchools is a non-profit organization with profiles of more than 200,000 preK-12 schools – public, public charter and private – and over one million reviews from parents, teachers and students sharing information about the schools they know best.
As speculated by Apple Maps Marketing, it's like that Apple is looking to integrate more local data such as gas prices and school ratings into Maps at some point soon.
Apple has recently made a number of other improvements to Maps. Last week, the company expanded their Maps Connect tool to to more countries, and earlier this week they added Flyover support for nine more cities.
